Hi Nikki, the shocking fluid retention (edema) is a sign of end stage liver disease; if you peel down your lower eyelids and look at the color you will see a yellowish tinge also. You need to see a doctor about getting diuretics and look closely at your diet including alcohol.
My buddies gave you good advice.
I know it's scary hearing words you don't want to hear.
And maybe it won't happen.
However, as they say "Knowledge is Power".
I went through this when I was told I had breast cancer.
You never know how you are going to react but sometimes knowing what is wrong is a comfort.
My appt was at 10:00 and by 10:30 my husband and I went for a really early lunch at the local pub. I didn't need the food but it was the best beer I ever had !
We sat their stunned and From then on the docs were in control. It was in 2008 and I'm still here.
You have symptoms that will respond nicely to the right medication.
Get to the doctor and start the process.
Who knows? You may have a bladder infection and are on your feet too long causing the swelling.
