I get UTI's which only last a day or two; usually they occur 2 days post-intercourse. Home test strips are positive but lab tests come back negative since it takes a day or two to get a doc appointment. Symptoms are identical to those of UTI's. I'm meticulous with cleanliness & use AZO for relief. Anyone else with a similar story?
Yes, this happens to me. Always, always pee right after sex to clear the urethra. It is irritation but it CAN lead to infection if matter gets up in there from sexual friction and if you dont urinate right after sex. You are probably getting small friction tears that may bleed a bit hence the positive home result-they look for blood where the labs look for bacteria. It may help to use a water soluble lubricant like plain KY jelly (not the warming or fragranced, flavored etc just the plain old KY)
I have also experienced this. What has worked for me in preventing this from happening has been ensuring mine and my partners hands are washed, also that my partners penis is cleaned prior to intercourse and that his penis does not accidentally touch or rub against the anal area. To sum things up ensure everything involved in the intimate areas are cleaned prior to intercourse. Also if u have already tried this, it may even be positions chosen during intercourse that can cause irritation or rawness in the same areas in the vagina as a uti or bladder infection. Try new positions or being more gentle during intercourse.
