I have a UTI and have started a 7 day treatment of Doxycycline two days ago. I have been experiencing frequent urination ever since I took the first pill. There is pain and burning which I had before starting the antibiotics. Is the frequent urination a good thing? I'm all alone in this and could use some support
Urinating frequently is actually a positive thing for the antibiotic treatment. Most antibiotics for UTIs are chosen because their chemical profile ensures that they sustain high concentrations in urine, and frequently urinating ensures that the antibiotic is getting to the area of infection (i.e., your urinary tract). So keep drinking fluids, and keep going to the bathroom. It's bound to help.
Hey Deep Yes that is a good thing,Stay with it the increase flow of urine is okay and well help keep fresh liquid in there,,, Make sure you continue to drink plenty of water or cranberry juice etc, this flushes out your system,,And wear sunscrean if your out in the sun Doxy's make you sensitive to the sun... sounds good from what i know the irritation and burning should start to ease up soon that is another reason that you keep getting the urge to pee... alls well hope this does it. These are symptoms of the uti. Azo which is OTC will help with the burning and frequency. Drink plenty of water and you will be ok. The Azo will make your urine orange.
