I just started ortho tri-cyclen last month. I took my 2nd inactive pill today from my first pack. Should I not have sex while on the inactive pill? Is there a certain time of the month that I shouldn't have sex, even though I take my pill everyday at the same time? If the inactive pills are unsafe to be having sex on, when will I be protected again?? After my next active pill? Or a week's worth of active pills?? Please help! My boyfriend is afraid to have unprotected sex bc he's not sure how safe the pills are and if there is an unsafe time. I am also scared too! Don't want to get pregnant!!
The above comment is right as long as you take your pill everyday then you will still be protected on the period days, I sometimes skip my inactive pills to avoid having a period and since all three of my docs said that's safe then I can have sex all the time And not worry. Hope this helps
Seriously, Thank you all!! A load off my mind!! SOO appreciate it!!
One more question. I've heard other people say they skip their inactive pills also to avoid getting a period that month. If I were to do that would I take my last active pill, then open a new pack of pills and start them the next day or do you still wait that week in between??
