I had a tooth extracted yesterday and the periodontist prescribed methylprenisolone. I took the first day of the dose pack (6 pills) and 1 pill today, but i'm wondering whether to stop due to going back to work at a pediatrician's office tomorrow. It says not to stop suddenly.
It is not unsafe for the patients. Your resistance might be a bit low so use your mask and wash hands a lot with soap and water, not just Purell, to kill germs.
Never, ever stop taking this med. Is is for a reason and even at this very low dose you can have problems.
All in all, take as prescribed for your tooth and use more caution around the kids for your benefit so you don't get the latest cold going around. The kids are unaffected. Ask more questions if you have them.
