I had unprotected sex again on wednesday, could plan b still be affective, or should I take another plan b... Thnks
Plan b is only effective for one episode of unprotected sex then you have rapid return to fertility so Tuesdays dose will not be effective for Wednesdays sex. Plan b should not be used like birth control. You need to talk to your Dr about birth control methods or start using condoms, if you do not wish to become pregnant. Plan b is for emergency contraception like a condom break or noticing a tear in your diaphragm-something like that. It is not intended to be for having unprotected sex then thinking "oh, well, I can just have unprotected sex then take Plan b" Plan b has limited effectiveness and doesnt always work to prevent conception. If you are going to be sexually active, you need a form of reliable birth control. Condoms are easy, simple, effective and cheap AND you dont have to go to a Dr to get them. They are not as nice as skin to skin contact but it will help keep you from becoming pregnant. Adding a spermicidal foam or jelly to condom use improves effectiveness. There are options form your reproductive health care provider like many birth control pill (BCP) options, the diaphragm, IUDs, and Depo-Provera. Relying on Plan b like you have been, you are going to end up pregnant anyway. You should go ahead and take another dose of Plan b today then buy some condoms and/or make an appt with the GYN (gynocologist). You are playing with fire girl! Plan b really can mess up your cycle so you can expect to be pretty irregular after two close together doses of Plan b. You may spot, have an early period or bleed heavy or all of the above!
