I had unprotected sex yesterday and my depo shot apparently ran out... my last shot was in April. I have an appointment to get my shot tomorrow, should I still go and get some emergency contraceptive just in case or will the depo prevent it? Is it too late for the depo to stop pregnacy, I know it takes six days to actually have sperm attach but still. Please help!
You should always set multiple reminders on your phone to remind you when your next shot is due. You shouldn't just let it "run out". Its too late to tell you to go get emergency contraception now, but hopefully you did because depo can't be used as emergency contraception, but is more likely to result in an ectopic pregnancy should you use it and fall pregnant. As for it taking 6 days for sperm to fertilise an egg, it can occur any time from intercourse till up to a few days later. Its not to say you will not conceive before 6 days, it can happen immediately.
