I Had unprotected sex 3 weeks ago exactly I've been on Lutera For 10 months but I always miss an active pill but I never worried because i had never been sexually active until now. I missed a pill the day before and took it afterwards then the day I had sex I missed that pill took it the next day & have been taking them. Could I be pregnant?
Any time you miss a pill, you have an increased chance for pregnancy but chances are still good that you are not. The more missed pills you have in a month, the greater the chances for pregnancy. The Pill prevents ovulation and when you miss pills, there is a small chance that the miss can cause you to ovulate and by having sex after, it is possible for the released egg to get fertilized. Just keep taking your pills at this point because chances are good that you didnt ovulate. If you miss your next period, do a pregnancy test. Next time you miss a pill, take it as soon as you remember and use condoms if you have sex until you have taken seven days of active pills (so generally for the next seven days). This way, if you did happen to ovulate, the condom will keep you protected until it passes through your system and your Pill has a chance to suppress any more ovulation. It is always best to take your missed pill as soon as you remember but by taking it, it doesnt necessarily mean that ovulation cannot occur. It is very important to take your pills daily and at roughly the same time. Going more than 24 hours between pills can stimulate ovulation.
