The 50mg gel cap made me nervous and anxious once before i didnt like it very much what do u guys suggests... ive tried valerian root with melotonin before but not sure if it effwcted me the right way... sometimes ill have trouble falling asleep and when i did... i had trouble staying asleep any tips anyone???
Unisom/doxylamine is an antihistamine as is benadryl. Most people can't keep taking either one night after night or it backfires on them and they can't sleep. I suggest you take the 50 mg gel cap unisom with valerian root 1 night only, if at all. You can try the 25 mg Unisom and buy valerian root separately to take with it. Often people don't sleep for long periods using sleep aids, so difficulty staying asleep is not unusual. On the herbal side, there's also chamomile, passionflower, humulus lupulus, and so on. Nobody seems to know how these work for sure, it's trial and error. Exercise that finishes up at least an hour before bedtime can be a significant help for sleeping.
I commend you for wanting to solve this without a prescription drug, but if your sleeplessness persists for more than 2 weeks, contact your health care provider. You could have an undiagnosed problem that keeps you from sleeping normally. You may need a prescription drug to help you sleep. I know I don't sleep without one of several prescriptions (not all at once) due to diagnosed disorders.
