Under what circumstances does a provider add calcium when the patient is currently taking PhosLo?

It would be added if the patients where the calcium blood level is low.
Phoslo is calcium acetate and is used to reduce phosphate levels in the bood in patients with chronic kidney disease. Usually patients with CKD have high calcium and taking the Phoslo actually increases the calcium.
So it is kind of tough to say.
