I have some ultram that was given for pain now it is 3 years old. Can I still take it?

The Pharmacy tells you to throw it away after a tear, BUT I have taken pain Meds that were 5 years old. It will not hurt you, the only thing is it will not be as strong as they were 3 years ago.

If by "given" you mean prescribed there is a "use by" date on the bottle. If "given" means not from a Dr. then don't take it. Either way I'm fairly sure it's past its potency date.
