Ultram is tramodol which is an analgesic medication. Unlike percocet, it not only affects pain receptors but also elevates mood. Ultram is addictive though many docs will say not. Percocet which contains oxycodone and acetaminophen is a stronger pain reliever than ultram. Both are addictive meaning you have to taper off when stopping the medication so to avoid withdrawals.
If pain meds are taken as ordered, the chances of addiction decrease. When you stop one of them, yes you wean off of them, because your body becomes used to having it. This is dependency. Tramadol is not always habituating. There are a percentage of us who can stop taking it easily. Of course we are the ones who've taken it as ordered, never more.
