how many doses... doctor's advise/evaluation... personal observations?
I have taken 56 doses of Tysabri since 2006. It has kept me out of a wheel chair!! For me, It is worth all the risks. I do have a yearly blood test to monitor JC Virus levels. I do not want to stop this treatment..It has slowed down the progression of further disability from my MS. I find out tomorrow if I will make it to 57 doses.
I had over 48 doses. It worked fantastic for me. With that said, are you JCV positive? That is the ONLY reason I am now switching to Gilenya. If someone is JCV- I recommend Tysbari as it worked great for me... but if someone is JCV+ then you have a higher risk of PML and it is a risk vs reward thing. It was worth it for me until I had my child then I couldn't justify the 1 in 250 chance.
