Can a typical novocaine injection by a dentist cause a higher blood pressure reading?

It depends if you mean at the time you get it. Then there is a distinct possibility, but its not the novocaine. Dentists use epinephrine in the novocaine because it cuts down on bleeding. It won't keep your bp up however.
