my husband is type 2 diabetic and i was wondering what i can get him for cold relief - he is bunged up and sneezing a lot no sign of any mucus or phlegm - just the blocked nose and feeling lethargic
Oil of Oregano is your solution. I don't see any reason why it would conflict with his diabetes (there was a study done to see if Oil of Oregano was beneficial to those with type 2 diabetes
A few drops under the tongue daily works well. For even faster relief drop some at the base of the tongue and swallow.
It's also really great to inhale for colds. If he has a moustache he can place a drop of oil on it and inhale it. Really clears up the sinuses.
Congestion can be easily relieved with Mucinex decongestant. I have type 2 diabetes and my doctor suggested it. Just remember, the fewer the meds in the cold medicine, the better for him. Mucinex has only guaifenesin which unlocks the sinus. Keep an eye on him for fever. The flu is still going around. Fever over 100 may be the flu or another infections, like sinus.
