Had a Hysterectomy 9 days ago. Pain unbearable. Am now taking 400mg ibuprofen twice daily and 1000mg Tylenol three times a day. It seems to be working. My concern is, can I take the two meds at the same time (morning and evening), and I might have to follow this schedule for some weeks. Is this safe??

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy 16 years ago.
If I remember, the pain will not last that long. Be positive!
Didn't you get something like Percocet, Vicodan, etc when leaving the hospital?
It's usually given for 2 weeks.
It's enough to keep the patient up and moving around with decreased pain.
You are on high doses of OTC Meds.
I think your doctor would prefer to give you a short term script of pain meds.
You should call him today !
By Monday, it will be 12 days post-op which is close to the 2 week period and he may be reluctant. 9 sounds better than 12... Lol .
Be careful with Tylenol . Over 4 gm (4000 mg) per day can cause liver damage.
You are at 3000mg now and you are still in a lot of pain.
I'm surprised you went home with nothing.
Feel better. Please send follow up so we know what happened.
