... but its half a pill is that ok? is it too much?
I am really sorry no one has answered your question. I hope her pain is not horrible. You should probably ask the pharmacist this question since she is a child. I know a whole one is based on usually a 150lb person, & doubt whether your 4 year old weighs 75lbs yet. I could be way off, but call the pharmacy where you had it filled. It may be perfectly ok... Considering the pain your daughter is in and it's prescribed by a doctor that's probably a specialist, I'd give it to her. This should help her be calm and get much needed sleep that will allow her to heal. One of my grandson's had his kidneys malfunction-didn't urinate for over 24 hours-temp 106-extreme pain. He weighed about 40 lbs. The doctor gave him 600-800 mg of adult Advil. I questioned that. He told me to repeat the dosage in 2 hours and fill him with cranberry juice. He's a healthy young college student that rock climbs.
In first grade my daughter couldn't stop coughing, etc. really, really sick. The Navy prescribed GI Gin-told me to make her cocktails with juice-but she'd be drunk and it had lots of codiene. The school called me up and told me to get her to school-drunk or not. They didn't care that we had a letter from a USN pediatrician. The next day I took her to school to keep from being reported to child welfare. About 2 hours later, I was called, told to pick her up, and not bring her back until she was well and sober-not high either. She spent her time singing, dancing on the teacher's desk, and then nodding off-snoring loudly. She ended up in the top ten of her science classes and several science degrees. trust the doctor-be glad that she's not drunk too.
If anybody wonders about the kidneys-single working parent-getting the kid off to school-nobody in school checks urine output. I thought that he'd gone at school, his mother thought that he'd gone at school. She brought him over the next morning, so I could put him on the bus. He complained of being hot and he couldn't urinate. I made him drink water-which hurt him badly-but stopped kidney damage. The doctor asked me how I got him to do something so painful. I stood with a belt and said that I'd beat him him something horrible if he didn't drink. I didn't want to wait at any ER-I called the doctor and said that we were coming in. I had the poor child drink water while driving the 60 miles to the doctor. The doctor said that made the difference between kidney damage and having healthy kidneys. The doctor sent him to an allergy Dr. he got shots for lots of allergies-and his health improved-he gained weight and took less antibiotics, etc. So he's healthy now.
