It used to be the staple pain medication and were given out like candy for many years? I know they have replaced with Vicodin, for the most part, but no more codeine?
The STOP Act 2017 limits the amount of pain medication. It applies to Schedule II and III narcotics. Tylenol#3 with codeine falls into the Schedule III opioid. I think the doctors is paranoid about the law and being queried about prescribing codeine.
