I had a transurethral resection surgery done in Mexico. It has been a month since the surgery but, I still have urinary pain. The doctor gave me AZO urinary pain relief prescription and it doesn't work. Is it normal to still have excruciating pain or does anyone recommend another medication for my problem?
Are you drinking lots of water to keep your urine dilute? It is normal to have some bladder spasms after this kind of surgery. Usually phenazopyridine hydrochloride (the active ingredient in AZO) helps. We used to also give B&O suppositories (Belladonna and opium) to help with pain after this kind of surgery

Dr. was extremely rude about refilling pain meds . Said I shouldn't need them anymore from surgery.?
