Taking them like that lessens your protection. When you miss a pill you should take it as soon as you remember, plus you will still take the pill for that day. Keep taking the pills, but use a condom until you've taken 7 pills in a row. I would just start a new pack when I got to the gap, instead of taking the gap. There are free apps for your phone to remind you to take your pills on time every day, if you need that.
