I started my period on a Saturday and started taking TriNessa on Sunday. My period is really light and should be done, i just would like to know how many more days i should wait so there's no chances i will become pregnant.
The manufacturer of the Pills say you are protected after seven consecutive days of active pills. Most docs prefer you wait a full cycle to be sure so if you have taken one whole pack of pills and had your period then you are safe when you start your 2nd pack. No contraceptive is 100% effective. There is always a very small chance of getting pregnant but the Pill, when taken properly, is about 99% effective. It is less that that if you take pills late or if you tend to miss pills. The more pills you miss within one month the higher your chances of getting pregnant become so do your best to take your Pill every day at roughly the same time of day and you will be as protected as you can be. If you miss a pill, make it up as soon as you remember then use condoms as back up for seven days. If you want to be absolutely the best protected you can be, then always use a condom with the Pill.
