They have varying amounts of hormones that is why the different colors and you are supposed to start from the outside. The green pills in trinessa are inactive, so you had no protection the first week or this week, since you just started them correctly. When you get to the end of the pills in this pack, you will just have to take a week break without the inactive pills before you start the next pack. Remember your start day is going to be the day you started the outside pills.
Yes, of course it matters, the green tablets in the center are placebos, meaning no drug or hormones so when you were taking those, you were not protected at all because you were taking nothing but a sugar pill. In fact, you were not protected until you had taken 7 days of the active tablets, In oral contraceptives like Tri-Nessa, it is even more important to take the pills in order because each week has a slightly different hormone level so the MUST be taken in order to work correctly!
