I've heard of a lot of different things to relieve pain such as the surgeries. Can anyone recommend any surgeries that have had total success. I have TN on the left and right. My pain management just wants to threw pills down my throat and I don't want that. I don't want to supress the pain, I want to cure it. Any information will be greatly appreciated. I'm new in here so please bear with me. Thanks in advance!
I'm a TN sufferer as well. Not a fun club to be a member of. I am part of a (FB) group that has been immensely helpful with so many things regarding TN. The Facial Pain Association is a group that can help get you connected with physicians who are knowledgeable about TN. Some procedures I have researched & discussed with my health care team are a trigeminal nerve block, MVD (micro vascular decompression) surgery, gamma knife, radio frequency ablation, rhizotomy, acupuncture, massage, & compound (lidocaine/ketamine) creams. Treatments work differently for everyone & not all TN can be treated surgically (or should). Definitely discuss with a neurologist or Neurosurgeon to see if you have options. Best of luck.
