Triamcinolone is a topical steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation.

Triamcinolone topical is used to treat the inflammation caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis. The dental paste form of triamcinolone is used to treat mouth ulcers.

Triamcinolone topical may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Hi Tandencon,
Masso gave you a great answer !
As a user of both, I want to give you feed back.
The lotion worked well on dry itchy skin. Don't expect immediate relief. Make sure you clean the affected area with gentle soap, water to thoroughly rinse and air dry prior to applying.

I absolutely love the dental paste for mouth ulcers. It remains on your mucous membranes even after eating. You don't need to apply it hourly like others. DO stay away from and spicy or thermally hot food or it won't heal.
Good luck
:-)
