I'm still on my period this week and not due to restart a new cycle of pills until Sunday. However, I mistakenly took the first one yesterday (Thursday). Since I'm still menstruating, is it safe to not take anymore and just restart as planned on Sunday? Oh, and a few months ago, I was really sick and unable to take the last active pill on the cycle, so I happen to have a spare to "replace" the one I accidentally took yesterday, so there will be no missed pills if I do that.). Or, should I accept that I messed up and continue taking pills from now on until next time when I can try to get back on track?
Re: Tri-Norinyl birth control pills-- took one 4 days too soon, can I stop & restart on Sunday?

I made a mistake...the extra pill I have is from the first week.
I would assume that any variation in the cycle would lessen the effects. Therefor, I would be conservative when it comes (hehe) to protection when "carrying on" until you've talked to a Doctor about your specific situation. Seeing how situational factors may play a role in this case, use your best judgement.
