Is there is a new treatment other than interferon and ribavirin?
There are 2 very helpful drugs (telaprevir, broceprevir) that are added to the interferon and ribaviran. It is taking the SVR from about 45%-50% up to 75% or better. I know of no other treatment without the interferon and riba. From what I'm reading in about 3 to 5 years there will be drugs that will not have interferon involved in the treatment.
I also took the treatment you did the first time and it did not work. Second time was new treatment of sobuvir (sp) It has a 90+ success rate. It worked for me .There is also a new treatment in the works called RNA therapy that is interferon free. It stops the Hep C from replicating while the rest of the treatment and your immune system kill the virus
