... taking for a couple weeks? I have only taken twice for insomnia. Both times I felt physically relaxed, but did not sleep well, and then groggy for hours after getting up. Can anybody report that they had similar initial results that improved a lot after using for a couple weeks?
Unfortunately no. I found trazodone to be ineffective for insomnia. It seemed to make my body extremely tired but my mind would still be racing and unable to sleep. It is an antidepressant which has a side effect of sedation or drowsiness in about 40 percent of users so if the main reason you are taking it is insomnia I would look into drugs developed specifically for that purpose. Antidepressants have a myriad of unpleasant side effects and there is a lot of scaremongering surrounding sleep meds and benzos but if you need to sleep they will be more effective than any antidepressant.

Does trazodone work quickly or is it one of those drugs you have to take for awhile before it works?
