Can sleep only for short periods each night and awake in a fury
it affects everyone differently, but yes it can. Trazadone is known to inhibit REM sleep so if you are just getting to REM which is vivid but then waking without staying in it (trazadone also can rarely cause vivid hallucinations as well) you are then repeatedly waking as you hit REM sleep each night, hence the feeling of waking to night terrors or the like. It is said that after being on trazadone for longer periods this effect wears off and sleep gradually resumes to normal.
Hi, Trazodone is known to disturb sleep/make it difficult to sleep. Not all antidepressants work this way, so maybe you should ask your doctor for an alternative prescription if your sleeping pattern doesn't improve...
