I was recently changed from methadone 20mg./3x/day to oxycontin 40mg. 2x/day. Is there a certain amount of time that I need to expect to wait to see noticeable pain relief, or is the methadone prolonging the absorbtion of the oxy?
If you use a proper opiate conversion chart you will see that methadone is much stronger then oxycodone. 60mgs of methadone a day converts to a minimum of 150mgs of oxycodone. So you are going to have a tough time covering your pain at a relatively low dose of 80mgs of oxycodone. Is there a reason why your switching to a weaker opiate?? Good luck..Dave

Can a person detox from methadone by using oxycontin and percocette on a daily basis with low doses?
