... chol and trigs. I started having stroke like symptoms 4 years ago, they did an MRI and found 20 brain lesions and started to thing MS. After six months of testing a neurologist said the lesions looked more like stroke lesions. They questioned TIAs. I have not had any attacks for a year (numb in face, tongue feels fat, hard to talk, stuttering, cant walk, and all these are shortlived symptoms) but ive had THREE this week. now, and in the past, only happens in hot weather. never in the winter. does this make sense?
It sounds like since your cholesterol & triglycerides are high you have Narrowing of the blood vessels.
Usually once the blood vessels are narrowed it is easier for the vessels to get clots.
I assume that the drs. have you on medication to control your cholesterol & triglycerides?
You need to make sure the dr. handling prescribing these drugs are aware of the lesions? If so they may need to increase our change your medication to get these under control.
I also had the same things happening to me & now I have been diagnosed with Vascular dementia.
I have so many lesions that has hit my memory section of the brain that I now have dementia.
So please keep pushing your drs. to help get you on a good program. Best of luck, Kathy
