I have just been prescribed Tranexamic acid by my doctor for heavy period and pain, although I do not find it controlling pain very well. Is it ok to take Mefenamic acid (such as ponstan) with it?
According to the drug interaction tool (button at top of every Q&A page) there are no interactions between the 2 medications (to qualify that this means nothing is listed but not that interactions don't exist).
From the drugs.com interaction checker tool:
mefenamic acid interacts with more than 200 other drugs.
tranexamic acid interacts with more than 40 other drugs.
Interactions between your selected drugs and food
No results found - however, this does not necessarily mean no interactions exist. ALWAYS consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
