Yes. Tramadol is now listed in the Federal Controlled Substances Act and is in Schedule IV. Other Schedule IV drugs include Valium, Xanax, Klonopin, Ambien, and Soma. Tramadol and Soma are recent additions to the Controlled Substances Act. Both were previously not federally controlled but always required a prescription.
