Well, it you stropped abruptly, depending on numerous factors regarding your health, diet and habits this could linger for several weeks, possibly get a bit worse before it subsides. Best thing is to consult with the Dr that prescribed it, explain what you did here and get on the road to recovery.
Hi, yes it did that for me also! I hardly slept when i was taking it! I was working full time and tired, but still only managed about 4 hours a night. I was taking it at higher doses than you are though... Because of the way Tramadol works, and the dose you are/were taking, i would suggest that in about a week you should be sleeping better again. In the meantime you could try Nightnurse (short term), as long as it doesn't interact with anything else you are taking

Maybe something else is causing the agitation and inability to sleep? Tramadol has never caused those symptoms in me before. What is your dosing schedule?
I only take 1 a day before work so its taken at 3pm
I bet your problem would be solved if you took it at 8 am. I have found tramadol to be a great medicine all around if used correctly.
Ha! Catch 22. Two years ago I was prescribed Tramadol to give me enough pain relief to get more than 2-3 hours sleep at night. Well, the pain was diminished, but the med acts like a big mug of coffee. Now I sleep when I can in my recliner, the bed is too uncomfortable. I would rather be awake and not in pain than to sleep poorly.
I would rather have the pain to..im getting about 2/3 hours a nite sleep and when i do want to sleep i have to go to work..took a tablet on sunday and not taken one since but still sleeping is hard
I would talk to your dr. There are a lot of medicines to help with sleep, including over the counter medicine.
Thankyou i will
I was on it for 10 yrs and never had that reaction to it. Its probably time to think about the chance of other things going on.
You might have withdrawal, but after a month, its hard to say. If you're withdrawing, then you might have that.
tramadol and opioids have the unique quality of being simultaneously sedating and stimulating. One can lay down and sleep, however, often it feels restful but it is difficult to achieve R.E.M. cycles (deep sleep) that is needed to for restoration, rebooting, and energizing. A few days of shallow sleep often feels like no sleep at all and one can become agitated, edgy, exhausted, easily overwhelmed, depressed, etc.
