Hi everyone I'm on topirimate I take one 50 mg in the morning and one 50mg at night and have been On this medication for a couple of weeks now but still haven't lost any weight am I meant to be eating healthy to loose the weight
Yes, you need to be exercising and watching what you eat in order to lose weight. The topiramate is an appetite suppressant and can only help you not feel quite so much of your usual hunger. You've got to do the selecting of the right foods that are both healthy and keep your calories down so that you can lose weight. Exercise helps you burn calories and build muscle. When you build muscle, the muscle then burns some extra calories daily. All these things are needed to help you lose weight. There's a lot to know and it may help you to be part of a program like Weight Watchers or buy a book with a whole program that includes all of the pieces of the picture I just described to you.
