Wondering if there is anyone out there who has quit the drug and what happened after that? My doctor has suggested taking this but I have been having other health problem (fibromyalgia type) and now that we have that diagnosed I am thinking about trying this to help with my weight like my doctor suggested. I'm on gabapentin like another writer said she was so I feel good if it has worked for her. But I'm still wondering what does happen when you quit taking it after you have lost the weight?
Since no one has answered you by now, I'm going to give an answer. I'm on gabapentin and topiramate and I have fibromyalgia plus a bunch more diagnoses. The topiramate is helping to suppress my appetite but I'm still losing weight slowly instead of gaining. I'm on quetiapine, which is a tough one to lose weight with, along with the gabapentin. I can assure you I will be worse off if I stopped the topiramate. I would have even greater hunger.
I'm losing weight because of the topiramate and because my goal is weight loss surgery. I don't know if you've thought about this or have enough weight to lose or not. You can write back if you're interested and I'll write to you. I had lost 110 lbs. on my own, which was all I needed to lose, but eventually put back a lot of it. I was fed up with that because my problem was too many health problems that kept me from exercising like I needed to. Now I exercise but it's very restricted to 2 things. Ugh, boring.
I hope your health allows you to exercise and keep healthy!
