I have never struggled with weight issues my whole life until I got pregnant with my daughter. I gained 40lbs and couldn't lose any of it. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and kept gaining slowly. I suffer from bipolar disorder and depression so I've been on medication. Recently I had an episode and my phychatrist put me on Depakote and I gained another 30lbs. I am also on Seroquel. My Dr took me off of the Depakote because of the weight gain in such a short period of time and the weight was effecting my health. We have tried diet and exercise and still nothing. My phychatrist told me to ask my PCP about trying Topamax or Metformin to help in weight loss. I have read about so many side effects and risks. Does either medication help with weight loss? I also suffer from migraines and seizures so my dr thinks this medication will help me. I'm willing to deal with side effects of I can lose some type of weight. I'm 22 years old 5'7" and 200lbs ):
