My upper right molar need to be extracted because of cavity damage. Doctor prescribed me some antibiotics before extraction but im allergic to antibiotics. Can i use gum paint to clear the infection? Answer Please.
Are you sure your allergic to "ALL" antibiotics?
Maybe your just allergic to a certain type of antibiotics?
For example some people are allergic to Penicillin (bata lactam) type of antibiotic?
Also, another common type of antibiotics are sulfa antibiotics. Examples of sulfa antibiotics are Sulfadiazine and Bactrim.
I would call your doctor and ask what type of antibiotics you are allergic to?
Then I would call your dentist and give he/she the exact type of antibiotics so they can note the allergy in your chart.
Also, sorry but "gum paint" will not kill or cure an infection.
Why not call the doctor back who prescribed it?
Do you truly have an infection or cavities?
Stephen is right about antibiotics.
It's very strange to hear someone is allergic to all of them.
Perhaps they have a new one to try.
Gum paste may help the pain but if it's caused by infection, antibiotics are needed.
sukhvir; Did you not read my answer on when you were taking half of an amoxicillin and that went well. so you were going to take them and get into the dentist and see if that infection. GUM PAINT WELL WORK ABOUT AS GOOD AS HOUSE PAINT. IT IS A JOKE. don't WASTE YOUR MONEY IN 45 YEARS OF PHARMACY I HAVE NEVER SEEN OR HURD OF ANYONE ALLERGIC TO EVERY ANTIBIOTIC ON THE MARKET. YOU NEED TO TALK TO THE DENTIST. OR FINISH THE AMOXICILLIN WE TALKED ABOUT A FEW DAYS AGO AND GET IN AND SEE IF IT FIXED THE INFECTION FOR THE TOOTH SO THE DENTIST CAN WORK ON IT. chuck1957
