I had a tooth extracted and a bone graft for a dental implant. The dentist prescribed antibiotics to prevent an infection. I don't like to take antibiotics unless I have to, as I suffer enough intestinal distress as it is. Is this considered appropriate?
It certainly is. Do you know what infection in that jaw where the graft is can do to you? Osteomyeolitis of the jaw isn't pretty. So despite the fact that you think you know more about this than the person who had a lengthy education on it, take your antibiotics. Take some probiotics with it.
