Last nite i had to call an ambulance since the pain was out of this world. Then to make matters worse i fell out of bed due to the pain. Dr at the ER thought i was just looking for drugs and gave me Tramadol. I've have had it before and it doesn't even touch the pain. I am a server and in good shape and as long as i keep moving i'm ok i just can't bend or when i sit i have a hard time getting up. I have no insurance so i can't afford pain mgmt. I'm having a hard time sleeping so my question is should i take the tramadol? Some say it's not a narcotic it's just like extra strength tylenol. I've never had trouble with my back before and now i'm miserable. Any information would be great. Thx
pitafla; WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO THIS IS A COPY AND PASTE ON TRAMADOL. FIRST OF ALL.(((Tramadol Editor's Pick
Tramadol is a narcotic-like pain reliever. Tramadol is used to treat moderate to severe pain. The extended-release form of tramadol is for around-the-clock treatment of pain. This form of tramadol is not for use on an as-needed basis for pain. Tramadol may also be used for purposes not listed in this... )))) talk with the doctor you seen or read the info that comes with the medication not people you know this is a Narcotic and is very effective for many people but it is not one that you take more than what the doctor says or you well have problems getting off of it. You get withdrawals like you won't need to try it and don't take anything else with it like over the counter meds without talking with you Pharmacist. But you need to find something in the long run. That you can get that helps your condition does not just go away. call some pharmacy's around you and get prices on it, they vary its not the same price everywhere and also ask if they have the generic. Same thing just another company. Myself I would not want to be on this for the long term. Just because many have such a hard time getting off of it. CALL AROUND and see if there are any county clinics that offer a discount for uninsured people you can even try the E.R. ROOM and see if they know of any.sometimes there listed like a county you live in or under us gov. because whatever this doctor gave you is not going to last for a long time. also, it is okay to take with some food to avoid upsetting your stomach. And please your there in pain and listening to people that don't have a clue call your Pharmacist next time good luck. Chuck1957
