This was the result from the CT scan that was performed. The only explanation they gave me was that a bowel spasm "could" have caused this. Am in *intense* pain - was told to continue to take pain meds and that this "usually" corrects itself in 3 - 5 days. Pain is in lower left quadrant and is radiating down into my groin and back. Am very concerned, as I can find nothing about this particular problem anywhere. Thanks in advance for any answers!
A vein is twisted? All I can think of is that the vein is somehow obstructing circulation and causing you pain. I've seen the bowel itself twist and do this. What did they say could be done if it didn't straighten out? Blocking circulation to the bowel can be life threatening, so keep on top of it. If its not gone by Monday, I'd be back at the dr. I'd want to see a gastroenterologist about it too. If the pain becomes unbearable this weekend, go to the ER.
