Last year I stopped taking it because I felt like it wasn't working. Today I started up again and will soon be bumped up, and my dosage is .25. Will I be harmed if I drink alcohol tonight?
One beer or drink might be safe ~ but it could make you dizzy and *drunk*. Please be careful!

You probably won't feel drunk at all, or feel real dizzy. Combination of both is not recommended even at small dose but one drink or two should be fine. When I took Effexor no matter how many drinks I took I couldn't actually feel drunk so it took the pleasure of drinking away. I don't drink often but I like to get drunk once it a while (Christmas Holiday beeing the last time). And mixing Effexor 75mg with alcohol I just couldn't get the ''drunk'' effect at all. I'm also experiencing Depersonnalization/Derealization on Effexor and it was worse when I drank at the same time so that might bee the reason I couldn't get drunk. However you feel twice as hangover the next morning.
