I just started methotrexate for RA. I took my first pills on Wednesday, and Friday I was tired, it was just extreme fatique.. Even over slept by 2 hours for work, something I NEVER do, all day long, felt it was hard to do anything.. will this be an every week thing, this extreme tiredness?
One of my first symptoms besides swollen knuckles was an overall feeling of being tired. I wanted to sleep all the time. My entire body felt flu-like. My doctor even first diagnosed me with the Flu, even though I had a flu shot and had no other symptoms. This delayed my treatment for RA for over a month. He put me on antibiotic because my inner ear was red. He started me on (4) 2.5 mg of Methotrexate then (5) now I take (6) pills once a week all at the same time. I am only slightly better but very little. I also take a Folic Acid each day. I have been on this since the middle of April and it is now June 2015. I just have to wait and see if this treatment will work. I am still very tired most of the time and in pain. I try not to take advil, etc. I have no outstanding side effects. I do get spurts of energy but if I try to do too much I will suffer and can't use my hands the next day.
