You should feel some relief within an hour or less of taking it. But if it is ligament or tendon damage you will have pain throughout the healing process. Using biofreeze as a topical will give you some relief also. And wrapping it for support may help. Ice will help with swelling too.
Be careful with naproxen as it may upset your stomach so you might want to take it with food. Read the side effects of this drug so you may recognize any side effects.
