Hello I am new to this site. I am 48 and have been threw the wringer, 11 years ago I had half of my thyroid removed due to a nodule the doc thought could be cancer. Thank goodness it was not. After the surgery the surgeon said that I would not have to take any meds. I was fine for awhile now I have problems such as hair falling out, fatigue, weight gain ( alot ) moodiness, water retention, can sleep all day on some days but some nights I can not sleep, etc. Then 2 years ago I had a partial hysterectomy, i have now just an ovary and a fallopian tube. The doc said that the ovary will take over so I will not be on any meds. So I am not sure what is going on. My family doc listens to my complaints and says I am hypothyroid until he takes my blood and says I am fine. My Endo takes my blood an says that I am borderline in the medium range, whatever that means... I am stuck feeling not myself and I keep gaining weight like crazy no matter what I do. I made an appointment to see my OB doc I dont know what he can say or do besides more blood tests, which I sure hope he can give me his opinion on my problem. What else can I do? Besides suffer and put a happy mask on and smile ..
