... not get my TSH labs low enough. I also tried Synthroid. I felt terrible. I had Dr switch me to Armour. MyTSH went to high and other lab numbers went far to low but I felt fantastic?. I even lost 30 pounds! I am presently taking levothyroxine and Armour. the numbers are better but I feel so bad and am experiencing anxiety and depression problems. Is there another med I can take besides the levothyroxine? I had the same issues with the Synthroid. Any suggestions?
There is no other drug, unless you can try a different manufacturer. That would be a question for your pharmacist.
Is it possible you are anxious and depressed independent of your hypothyroidism? You say you had the problem on both drugs. That's why I asked. Having cancer and worrying about getting the right thyroid medicine can be anxiety producing and a little depressing. Losing weight should be uplifting. Think about this and about having a trial of a medicine for the anxiety and depression if they continue. Take care.
Anxiety can be a side effect of levothyroxine. I had my thyroid removed 10 years ago and began experiencing anxiety and depression shortly after. Initially I thought my levothyroxine dosage was wrong, but my hormone levels were normal. My doctor prescribed an antidepressant. I still take a low dose antidepressant and I feel fine.
