I have heard Deprakote puts weight on you and I have enough problem with that and do not need anymore help. Are there any drugs that will takes the place(works as good) as lithium. He would keep me on it but my thyroid is acting out crazy. Any suggestions at all. Need them real soon. Thanks :-)
I am on Lithium and became hypothyroid. The damage has been done you need to go on a thyroid med like Synthroid and make sure you see an Endocrinologist for your thyroid. They are the ones who study the endocrine system. I am staying on my Lithium because it won't make it worse now that the damage is done. So good luck and take care,
Several different manufacturers make generic versions of Lamictal, including :
Roxane Laboratories, Inc.
Generic Lamictal is available in a number of different strengths, including:
Lamotrigine 25-mg tablets
Lamotrigine 5-mg chewable dispersible tablets
25-mg chewable dispersible tablets.
Trileptal is working for me. The generic name is oxcarbazepin. I must take synthroid every day because they overdosed me with radioactive iodine to cure my overactive thyroid. That really has nothing to do with my psych meds. I never took lithium. All I know for sure is that all drugs have side effects unfortunately. I have been through a zillion drugs trying to manage my bipolar 2. I wish you luck in finding the right drug for you.
