Zanaflex (tizanidine) is a skeletal muscle relaxant. Pharmacologic class : imidazoline derivative, centrally acting alpha 2 adrenergic agonist. It is for acute and intermittant management of increased muscle tone with spasticity. It is not subject to the Controlled Subtances Act therefore it is not a controlled substance.
