... in a severe seizure disorder and showing psychotic behaviors? And the results of using antipsychotic med? My nephew is 22 yr old male with severe chromosome disorder resulting in severe seizure disorder. He has been on several antipsychotic meds to treat very disruptive behaviors. Is there a problem with mixing seizure meds and Thorazine? He does not respond favorably to Respirdol or Klonopin (excuse the spelling).
I actually don't know, but I loved Thorazine and had no trouble when mixed with Depakote. The Thorazine slowed my brain down nicely (was normally like a whirlwind) whereas my feelings about Depakote are completely neutral; no side effects that I could tell and no effect at all that I could tell (how does anyone tell when they are absence seizures?). Obviously you can use the drug interactions checker here to tell if the cocktail he is being given is safe.
Many chromosome disorders do not manifest themselves by physical appearance and there are quite a few combinations that present very differently. You are probably better off googling the disorder and spending a day or two reading about it.
