I'm in the worst pain I've ever been in. If I had a gun, I would shoot myself. I've been to the ER 2 times. They think nothing is wrong. The doctor took so many tests, all of them have been negative for anything. He tested me for parasites and they weren't 100% sure if it was or not. I believe I have worms crawling in my stomach... My stomach feels like its going I explode. I am so bloated, my abdominal area hurts and cramps. Behind my heart hurts, my lower back hurts, my sides hurt. If I'm not constipated I have diareah, if I don't have diareah, my stool is very orange looking with mucus stuff. I have no energy. NO ONE WILL LISTEN TO ME. please help
Do you have a primary doc? Someone who will explore your complaints more then an er would. I can tell you this, tell your dr all your symptoms, buyt not your belief there are worms crawling in your stomach. They tend not to take that too seriously. Are you in the usa? If so have you been out of the country lately? If your primary can't help you, he can refer you to a gi dr.
Have you seen any worms in your stools? Are you on any new medications? Have you taken antibiotics lately for any type of infections? Have you travelled outside of the country recently? My best advice would be to see a gastroenterologist if you have not already. You seem to have a digestive issue going on. In the ER, the doctors will do the minimal testing needed to ensure you have nothing immediately life-threatening going on, but will not do in-depth testing once they are satisfied that you are in no imminent danger. A gastroenterologist will do more specific testing to reach a diagnosis, most likely to include an endoscopy and/or a colonoscopy. Do you have a Primary Care Doctor? That would be your first step -- get a referral from him/her. In the meantime, start keeping a journal of when you are most uncomfortable - times, dates, activity, food, stress level, etc. Ask your PC doc to prescribe something to settle your stomach.
Sorry that I couldn't be of more help. Try taking motrin or aleve, although I feel certain you've already tried the OTC pain relievers. I hope you find a solution and diagnosis soon. Feel better.
If they looked at your stool under the microscope they should be able to tell if you have parasites or not. I agree with KM. You need to get a primary care doc if you dont already have one. I agree with her assessment of not telling them you feel worms crawling in your belly. Most cases of parasites, the host (you) do not feel the parasites unless it is pinworms which you will feel in your rectum, not your belly, and they are easily visible in stool. If you tell them you feel worms crawling in your belly and they cant find anything they will think it is a psych problem. I would also be interested to know if you are in the US and if you have been out of the country recently. Parasites are rare in the US but not unheard of especially when travelling outside the country. Most parasites found in the US tend to be pinworms but occasionally other parasites are found. Hookworms are found in the intestines and can be visualized by colonoscopy. Your symptoms sound very much like IBS.
I have a primary care doctor who have seen him 4 times in the last month. I was on vacation to Florida and are a lot of seafood so I wonder if it could be from that? My primary care doctor sai that parasites are hard to find in stool samples, he is treating me with Albeneza which is a 3 day dose. I am about to take my last dose at 7. I am not crazy but I seemed to notice some weird looking shaped things in my stool. And just to make sure I wasn't crazy, I had my mother check it out and she said that it was something strange. Any remedies for when my stomach flares up?
Hello. There are various parasites that come from odd exposures. Water can have wire worms. Pets bring tapeworms and so forth. And they are creepy just to think about them. However they are very rare, unless you live on a farm and are very involved with animals.
I agree that you are having a GI problem. The odd things you see are probably rolls of mucous that look like worm shapes. Luckily parasites do not look like that. If you are bold and wearing gloves, when in water they do unroll and they would not wiggle. Tapeworms have small segments, slightly oblong, that are sort of jello like, soft, and move a bit. You don't sound as if you have any of those.
What you need to be checked for is IBS as suggested or if you have constant diarrhea, for C Diff, which is a bacterial infection that makes one very ill. Your primary doctor not finding a parasite should now check other causes. I agree that you need further testing such as a colonoscopy to find the cause, hopefully, of your symptoms.
Gas also causes intense pain and makes one feel bloated. Continue to drink plenty of water, not sweet beverages, and as much walking as you can. You should see a change.
Finally, if you are a woman, you may well be having an ovarian cyst and that is serious. If you run a fever get back to the doctor. Guess that is all I can think of. You need a good doctor to listen.
By the way, I have wondered at times if I had parasites. It is just one of those creepy thoughts we can get. Hope you get a solution soon and start feeling better. K
Hi, I wanted to know if you where ever able to find out if you had parasites (worms)?
I too have have similar symptoms as you. For the past year I have had severe bloating, constipation, no energy, joint pain, back & neck pain, and weird stool. I'm afraid to tell anyone in my family my what I think it is, because I know how they will react. They think I am just exhausted because of the stress in my life, but I know my own body, and I know when something is not right. I did my own research because dr's say nothing is wrong. I bought PYRANTEL PAMOATE from KV vet supply. It's made by "Durvet". It was originally made for humans even though it says it for animals. When it arrived in the mail, I only took two tablespoons because of the after taiste. ( it's really not that bad, tastes like butterscotch)The directions are 5mls per 10 lbs. Anyhow, the next evening, I just about had heart failure because of what I pulled out! 3 large worm like things.
They were each aprox 3inches long! Needless to say, I grabbed that bottle of (Pyrantel Pamoate) and drank the required amount for my body weight! I could care less about an aftertaste! I'm curious and "afraid" of what will come out next. I took pictures of them
Did you ever get it resolved? I am going through the same thing at the moment. All tests are negative and they are eating my face. The hospital wrote to my doctors and said I was psychotic and likely to self harm. I went to the doctors to prove I was sane lol. Which of course I was. About 3 weeks after I saw a dermatologist who confirmed that it did look like I had something in my skin. I have scaring now it's been going on for 5 months now. Still not clearing up and I'm on a three month course of antibiotics and been on them a couple of weeks.
It's NOT in your head! You know what you're experiencing, and don't let anyone tell you any different! I had a parasitic cyst on my back for 10 yrs before it ruptured, sending 100s x 100s of worms racing down my back. I had been feeling movement inside the cyst for 5 yrs prior to it rupturing. The Dr didn't listen before they came out, and certainly didn't listen afterwards. I had an Infectious Disease Dr to tell me parasites don't live outside of one's intestines; therefore, nothing was tumbling down my back or flooding my body; including, my head and face. I have pictures of skin breakouts, alien-looking stool, a 24+ inches long rope of connected worms and egg pouches: TRUTH! I'm still fighting. I got rid of many of my worms via the counsel of people like us at CureZone. Do the research and keep fighting to get rid of these devils! Your life is worth the fight! You are NOT crazy, and you are not alone!
