I have been going to therapy for 5 years and tried all different types of medication for my depression and panic attack disorder. I like my Therapist and Psychiatrist, but I feel like its not enough. I feel like I need to talk to someone everyday, but obviously I can't do that with my Therapist. Can anyone with similar issue give suggestions on what I can do.
Unfortunately it may not be enough, particularly if you have treatment resistant depression. Have you had your DNA tested by a prescribing physician in order to determine which medications may be most effective for you? There are newly developed algorithms by companies such as genesight that can guide your physician in selecting the most effective medicinal therapy.
Take care for now and all the best.
Hi Santitar: Have you ever tried a medication called Buspirone? I have taken it successfully for over 3 years for my anxiety/depression. Although it is an anxiety medication, I have tried many antidepressants, but so far buspirone has worked the best for me, perhaps because it also hits certain serotonin receptors.
